Tooth-Colored Fillings for a Natural Look
A dental filling is a common treatment used to repair a tooth that has been damaged by decay. When bacteria eat away at the enamel, it creates a small hole or area of soft, weakened tooth structure—what we refer to as a cavity.
To restore the tooth, your dentist will first remove the decayed portion, leaving behind a clean and healthy space. This space is then “filled” with a strong, durable material that helps restore the tooth’s shape, strength, and function—hence the name “filling.”
Getting a filling not only repairs the damage but also prevents further decay and helps you maintain a healthy, pain-free smile.

No More Silver – Modern Metal-Free Fillings
At Aesthetic Dental Group, we use high-quality composite resin fillings to restore your teeth back to their original shape, strength, and appearance. Whether you're treating a cavity or repairing minor damage like chips, cracks, or worn-down enamel, our tooth-colored fillings blend seamlessly with your natural teeth for a beautiful, long-lasting result.
Composite fillings not only restore function—so your bite feels natural and comfortable—but they also bond securely to your tooth, adding extra durability and protection. In some cases, we even use fillings for minor cosmetic enhancements, such as closing small gaps or reshaping a front tooth for a more balanced smile.
What Happens During the Filling Procedure?
Getting a filling at Aesthetic Dental Group typically takes just one visit. We prioritize your comfort from start to finish. Before we begin, we’ll apply a local anesthetic to numb the area, ensuring you feel no pain while we work. You might feel a bit of cool water from the dental handpiece, but the rest of the process should be completely comfortable.
Once the decayed or damaged part of the tooth is gently removed, we carefully place the composite resin and shape it to restore your tooth’s natural contour. The material is then hardened and polished for a smooth, lifelike finish that feels just right when you bite down.
What to Expect After Your Filling Procedure
It’s normal for your mouth to remain numb for a few hours after your appointment. As the anesthetic wears off, you may notice mild sensitivity to hot or cold or slight soreness when chewing—especially within the first one to two weeks.
Tenderness near the injection site is also common. These side effects are temporary, but if discomfort persists beyond two weeks, don’t hesitate to contact our Uniontown, PA office. We’re here to make sure your smile stays healthy and pain-free!
